So, as mentioned before, when I finally made it to Denver I stayed with my aunt's family on Mom's side. Very wonderfully I have some of Mom's family and well as Dad's family and a few friends concentrated within this small part of Colorado.
Within three hours of arriving I made friends with a treadmill, which I had never been so happy to see (being 1pm it was hot and extremely sunny outside and I was very grateful to not have to slap on sunblock and hit the road for my daily run), showered off several days worth of airport gunk, ate a huge Vietnamese lunch with three types of grilled meat, received my BRAND NEW CAMERA (a rather boring-looking yet compact and surprisingly powerful Canon S95) and drove out to Colorado Springs with Mom and Dad for Christina's rehearsal dinner.
All sky and hills on the way to Colorado Springs

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Bailey household and hosted by the groom, Kevin, and his friends and family from Malaysia and London. They were very diligent chefs!

Kevin's mother and cousin. It will be fun having more Asians married into the Swedish family :o)

Uncle Kevin (yes, Christina married a guy with the same name as her father) whipping Patrick into action.

Oh my, tiny hamburgers and lots of other types of meat (I am truly back in the US!)

Since I finally got a new camera I decided I had to test its low-light capability. Result: it is better than my last camera.

Watch that flame!
