Celebrating Fall

Once again Fall was delayed a couple weeks but nevertheless it has arrived, bringing some nice colors with it.  The changing leaves last only a few weeks so it is very important to maximize time outdoors during this time.
Last weekend Seth and I spent some time on a trail by Mt Misery in Lincoln, MA

Prospect Hill had three occurrences of a barred owl in one week!  Too bad we didn't see him when we had the camera, but we still got to experience some great foliage.
Yesterday Bo, Leah, Seth and myself had a relaxing afternoon walk around Flints Pond in Lincoln, MA.  It is a real gift to have beautiful, quiet trails just a couple miles down the road.

I think this tree is trying to tell us something
We passed two spooky chimneys along the way
Polypores: just because they won't make you sick doesn't mean they are delicious!
Picnic in the middle of a footbridge.  We were lucky the trail was so quiet--we only had to move for one group of passers by!
An ideal spot for lunch
A big show-off tree at the very end of an ideal, chilly, fall walk
