Spring

Spring has struck us very suddenly, so much so that before we knew it the flowers had bloomed, the trees had became bright green, the tourist mobs had returned, and the heat had skyrocketed. In fact, some regions have already reached record highs in the upper 80s. I think it will be a looooong summer...

Last weekend we took a little walk up the Piazzale Michelangelo to see San Miniato al Monte. We run up this long hill that overlooks the city every morning, usually beating the sun. This was our first time visiting during the day when all the cafes and stalls are open and the stairs are buzzing with people licking gelatos. Compared with the pre-dawn calm which we are accustomed to, it was like, well, night and day.
